Week #10 PS

I am able to comfortably cross my legs now! :) The little things in life we take for granted - like feeling like a lady!

Bath tub experiance...

Been a long time since it has not hurt some how some way getting into the tub, shaving my legs, shaving my hooha or scrubbing my raggedy heals...
I had another break thru folks! hehehe...
I was able to comfortably do all of the above and even was able to take a sneak peak of my hooha that I haven't seen in a cpl years now! ooooo...

PS I didn't suffocate my ol'man with my thighs either! Sex was muy bueno!

Week #9 My wheels are a changing!

As long as I could remember my thighs were always on the bigger side... I did roller-skating when I was in elementary and jr high which always kept my legs toned but still I NEVER enjoyed wearing shorts - long shorts, short shorts, etc.... my thoughts have always been... any bigger, plumper, fluffier size female should not wear shorts any kind of shorts! WHY? Because you never see a chic with thighs be able to walk without them riding up their crotch! Sorry but I think that is so tacky! and unattractive! So, I sworn shorts off all together till yesterday... dun dun dunnnnn... I put on a pair of biker shorts... lol spandex biker shorts... yes I was an other break through... I even asked the ol'man how my thighs looked ( he was a good boy he said I looked good)lol... probably should have stopped me before I went out the house! Anyways...lol I noticed that my inner thighs weren't jiggling as much when I walked! Holly cow batman! It felt so cool! My poony was catching a breeze! lol Now I still think I am not ready for shorts though... lol when I was on the machine they road right up my ass and I looked like I had no shorts on at all... not a pretty site I’m sure! So, meaning of this story for me... hmmm... There is great hope and excitement in my visions of what my body is turning into and it includes shorts!

RAPPING UP TWO MONTHS OF TRAINING!

Yesterday evening I came to a realization that this is all well worth every bead of sweat and every tear! I never really tried figuring out what my emotional roller coaster trips were all about... Yes, I've seen the fits that have haunted my mothers life come through and never could figure out how to fix them...
(Example: One time my grandmother came into town unexpectedly and was staying at the Bellagio -
wanting me to come and see her... needless to say I blew her off cause I felt fat! ARE YOU EFFING KIDDING ME! None of my clothes were fitting right and my hair was a wreck!
Knowing that I only had that one opportunity to go visit her
before she went back to Utah! I'm such a douch!
So, I threw a fit... throwing all my clothes around the room, kicking my shoes across the room and pulling as I'm brushing my hair vigorously, only making my condition worse! Wa wa wa!)
WOW... reading that back to myself - I would have to say... "Grow the eff up Angela! Take control of YOUR life... no one else can do it but you!"
Back to what I was trying to get at... lol... so, this whole going to the gym and taking better care of my self is helping my physique to all ends! This feels so amazing - it's frustrating on one hand trying to find the words to describe the emotional part of this whole journey... I'm having a bad case of the I CAN"T WAIT's!
Starting two months ago I weighed in at 241 and this morning -
this beautiful Friday the 13th morning I pulled in at 221! FABULOUS!

Week #8 Seeing some changes...

  1. Sunday morning bowling with the folks and Gina & Matt for mother's day... sweet! I noticed something for the first time... when I would take my three steps to throw the ball - my butt and my thighs weren't smacking together like they were giving my a standing 'O' every time I walked! That was cool!
  2. My gym clothes... from my experiences in the past with laundry and washing cotton blended clothing on a regular basis you would come to expect some shrinkage over time... BY GOLLY! I'm not having that problem... lol Shoot I even wash the garments every other day more then the normal person would wash the same piece of clothing! Pretty cool! :)
  3. Amber has been my biggest encouragement! Lol go figure I'm been coached by a 9 yr old! So, what made me start this whole adventure was my little Amber telling me one day "Mommy, your fat!" She wasn't being viscous, she was being honest... the look she gave me was out of concern! Kinda creepy how well her and I know each other! Long of the short... the other morning I was getting dressed and she was watching me and she said "Mommy, you don't have to jump when you put your jeans on!"
Starting to feel like this is going to be so worth it when I finally find my groove! I can't wait to go shopping for clothes! I can't wait to be confident enough to walk out the house in a pair of Girl's shorts! I can't wait to be able to wear the sexy underwear my honey so badly wants to see me in! ;) I can't wait to be able to look in the mirror again and not curl my lips in disgust!
LORD I can't wait!

Colon Cleansing

The colon is part of the large intestine which is responsible for elimination of waste matter from your body. The health and functioning of your colon plays a major role in any weight loss program. A healthy colon helps weight loss when you’re on a diet and an unhealthy one not only makes you feel weak and ill but leads to slower fat and weight loss.

It’s important to clean your colon before going on a diet to lose weight. When waste and fecal matter get stuck to the sides of your colon, you generally feel fatigued and tired most of the time. There is a direct relation between fatigue and fatigue related ailments such as back pain, headaches  to a clogged colon. A colon cleanse will give you more vitality, energy and endurance which will make it easier for you to stick to your weight loss program.
Cleaning your colon will affect your digestion making it easier to process food. If the colon is plugged everything slows down. While this affects bowel movements, the longer the waste is in the system, the more of the waste toxins are absorbed into your system and bloodstream.  There is breeding of bacteria and parasites in your colon which causes bowel pain, gas, constipation and other ailments.  A cleanse will get your digestive system back on track.
After cleansing your colon, you will feel renewed which will help you achieve your diet and fitness goals and enable you to lose weight faster.
Therefore, make colon cleansing a part of your healthy lifestyle regime.

Do a Little, Get a Lot

The notion that good health can come in small tidbits is not really new. Research showing that making small changes can add up to a big difference has been quietly accumulating for a while.

For example, a study published in the Archives of Internal Medicine in 2004 found that adding just 30 minutes of walking per day was enough to prevent weight gain and encourage moderate weight
So get started in a very modest way.  The point is to just try and make it daily.  It sounds so obvious but it is easily procrastinated away.
Good Luck.  This is what we’re dealing with here.

Fitness Prospector... Love it!

Fitness Starting Point

How much do you know about what makes a healthy lifestyle?
1. How do you define working out?
a. Going to the gym.
b. waking around the bloc  c Playing with your dog
2. How do you define good nutrition?
a. Eating a vegetable at every meal.
b. Eating two vegetables at every meal.
c. Drinking a fruit smoothie for breakfast.
3. Which of these is a healthy activity?
a. Push-ups, sit-ups, or running the track.
b. Walking the dog after dinner.
c. Spending Saturday afternoon snoozing on the sofa.
Believe it or not, the correct answer to every question is A, B, and C — even that Saturday afternoon snooze! According to the growing “Stealth Health” movement, sneaking healthy habits into our daily living is easier than we think.
“You can infuse your life with the power of prevention incrementally and fairly painlessly, and yes, doingsomething,no matter how small, is infinitely better for you than doing nothing,” says David Katz, MD, MPH, director of Yale University’s Prevention Research Center and of the Yale Preventive Medicine Center. Katz is also co-author of the book Stealth Health: How to Sneak Age-Defying, Disease-Fighting Habits into Your Life without Really Trying.
From your morning shower to the evening news, from your work commute to your household chores, Katz says, there are at least 2,400 ways to sneak healthy activities into daily living.
“If you let yourself make small changes, they will add up to meaningful changes in the quality of your diet, your physical activity pattern, your capacity to deal with stress, and in your sleep quality — and those four things comprise an enormously powerful health promotion that can change your life,” says Katz.
And yes, he says, a nap on the couch can be a health-giving opportunity — particularly if you aren’t getting enough sleep at night.  Sleep is so important that being rested gives you energy to do so much more.
Nutritionist and diabetes educator Fran Grossman, RD, CDE, agrees. “You don’t have to belong to a gym or live on wheat grass just to be healthy,” says Grossman, a nutrition counselor at the Mt. Sinai School of Medicine in New York. “There are dozens of small things you can do every day that make a difference, and you don’t always have to do a lot to gain a lot.”

Week #3

I need to really buckle down and get a workout plan together cause the bike riding 5 days a week is starting to become quite easy... 45 min @ 95 RPM's for a distance of 17 miles... the gym still kind of freaks me out – it’s intimidating! Get over it Ang! lol

Never thought this would be so difficult...

"Mommy your gonna die!"

So my daughter is 8 yrs old and she's starting to bloom into a wonderful young lady! She has been telling me for a couple years now that "Mommy your gonna die! Please quit smoking."
Let's just say I have not picked up a cigarette in 39 days today... now I can say my baby saved my life in a way! Love you my sweet Amber... xoxo

Week #2

Well... let's just say the weekend is something that I need more discipline! Awful! Gained all the weight I lost last week back... You know this is one of the things that burst my bubble - need to seriously work on some self control! I'm still doing 17 miles in 45min on the bike... a bit intimidated at the gym to use anything else - wish I wasn't alone doing this! Suck it up Ang!

My Thought of the Day...

If you are kind, people may accuse you of being selfish.
Be kind anyways.

If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies.
Succeed anyways.

If you are honest and frank , people may cheat you.
Be Honest and frank anyways.

What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight.
Build Anyways.

If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous.
Be happy anyway.

The Good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow.
Do Good anyways.

People are often unreasonable, illogical and self-centered.
Forgive them anyways.

Give the world the best you have and it may never be enough.
Give the World the best you've got anyways.

You see in the final analysis is about your own character.
It was never be about them anyways...

Week #1 Journey Starts

I actually started at the gym 03/21/11 weighing 240lbs... Let me tell you! Wow this is one of the hardest things I have ever done - which it really shouldn't be! You'd think if i could stop using drugs and smoking that this would be a piece of cake! So as of 03/22/11 I checked in at 237lbs... My short term goal is to loose 50lbs by May 31, 2011 - 70 days from now... long term to loose 75lbs and maintain! So wish me luck!
